The Church of the Virgin Mary in Mostorod, known as "Al-Mahamma," is located in the Mostorod area north of Cairo on the outskirts of Greater Cairo, within Qalyubia Governorate, and is considered one of the most prominent stations along the Holy Family's route in Egypt. According to Coptic tradition, the Holy Family rested at this site during their journey, and it is believed that the Child Jesus was washed or bathed here, which is how the name "Al-Mahamma" (the bathing place) came about. The site includes a historic church, a well, and a grotto associated with the spiritual memory of the place, and it welcomes visitors from within Egypt and abroad throughout the year.

The development plan includes enhancing the church entrance and creating an integrated service area that includes a visitor rest area, restrooms, and a cafeteria, in addition to preparing designated bus waiting areas and providing security and primary healthcare services.
